The homelab behind the name

This site is the public front door for a personal homelab — a single Debian host running a small fleet of self-hosted services in containers. The interesting parts are on the What I run page, but the short version: a reverse proxy handles HTTPS, a private mesh network keeps everything off the public internet, one sign-on provider covers the apps that need accounts, and a secrets manager keeps credentials out of the repo and out of plaintext.

It's not a data center. It's one box, a handful of containers, and a stubborn refusal to hand my data to someone else's SaaS just because the signup form was convenient. The coffee is strong, the takes are stronger, and the uptime is — well, best-effort.

Why self-host

Because "free" services cost you in data, lock-in, and the slow erosion of owning your own tools. Because a container you control beats a dashboard you don't. Because the best way to learn how something works is to be the one responsible when it breaks at 2am. And because, frankly, it's a fun excuse to write more YAML than any reasonable person should.
